Atheist group moves into former church
A group of atheists which holds a non-religious Sunday services, has found Bristol’s Trinity Centre as their new place to gathering.
The former church building in Old Market has become one of Bristol's most iconic venues and the group will now hold its regular Sunday gatherings there.
The group get together once a month and listen to speeches and music before discussing various issues and topics. Of course there is no mentioning of god or religion in their Sunday assembly.
Organiser Dawn Sellick said: "Although we are often labelled an atheist church we don't quibble over theological differences. We celebrate the one life we know we have, we do not pray to Richard Dawkins.”
She added: "We have members with faith as well as card-carrying atheists, but the majority are people whose response to the question 'Do you believe in God?' is to shrug. We certainly don't make any money from this. Services are free to attend, and we ask for optional donations to cover our costs."
