Dear Member,
In accordance with the AAI bylaws, the 2021 Annual General Meeting of AAI will be held (virtually) on Sunday, July 25 at 15:00 UTC.
A complete agenda will be sent out no later than June 25.
Proposing a Motion for Consideration at the AGM
Any Member or Affiliate in Good Standing may propose a motion at the meeting. Motions must be seconded by an AAI Board Director or by an Affiliate in good standing, must not involve a contravention of the AAI Bylaws, and must be submitted to the Secretary no later than May 31. At the meeting, motions will be voted on by Board Directors and Affiliates. A simple majority will be required for motions to be passed.
Election of Board Members
There will be eight (8) open board positions: five At-large Directors and Regional Directors for Asia, Australasia and North America.
The results of the election will be published on the AAI website after the AGM.
Nominations
Paid-up Individual AAI Members are entitled to nominate themselves for any available Board position.
Please note, nominees for the AAI Board must satisfy the following criteria:
- Sufficient competence in reading and speaking English to be able to participate in Board discussions.
- Hold current Alliance membership.
- Have access to reliable internet connectivity.
- Be available to attend monthly Board meetings and any committees to which they are appointed,
- Have a record as an activist or organizer on behalf of nonbelief for at least two years, or otherwise possess skills deemed valuable to the organization.
The Board will carry out authentication checks to ensure nominees meet these criteria before including them on the ballot paper. Authenticated nominees will be invited to submit campaign materials that will be displayed on the AAI website.
Nominations for Board positions must be received by the AAI Secretary by June 25.
