The 2023 Annual General Meeting of Atheist Alliance International will be held (virtually) on Sunday, November 12.

Annual General Meeting

According to AAI Bylaws: Any Member in Good Standing may propose motions for discussion. Motions must not involve a contravention of the AAI Bylaws and must be submitted to the Secretary no later than October 15. At the meeting, motions will be voted on by Board Directors and Members. A simple majority will be required for motions to be passed.

A complete agenda will be sent to all Members no later than October 29.

No business shall be transacted at any General Meeting unless a Quorum is present. Representatives participating in a General Meeting in person, by proxy, or through such electronic forums as the Board approves will be considered present, hold their allocated voting rights, and count towards a Quorum.

Any Member unable to attend the meeting may authorize another Member or the President of the Alliance to cast a proxy vote on its behalf, provided that the Secretary is notified of this arrangement by the Member in advance.

Election of Board Directors 

At this 2023 Election: There will be open Βoard positions for At-Large Directors and Regional Directors for Africa, Asia, Australasia, Central & South America, and North America.

Members and Provisional Members in Good Standing are entitled to nominate any number of candidates for the At-Large positions and one candidate for a Regional position who must be for the member’s own Region. 

Supporters in Good Standing can also nominate candidates. 

Nominations must be seconded by a Board Director or a Member in Good Standing.

Please note, that nominees for the AAI Board must satisfy the following criteria:

- Sufficient competence in reading and speaking English to be able to participate in Board discussions.

- Be a Supporter in good standing.

- Have access to reliable internet connectivity.

- Be available to attend monthly Board meetings and any committees to which they are appointed.

- Possess skills deemed valuable to the organization.

All candidates are encouraged to read the AAI Bylaws for any clarification. 

To ensure that nominees meet the criteria for Board membership, the Board shall carry out authentication checks before adding nominees to the ballot. Authenticated nominees will be invited to submit campaign materials which will be displayed on the AAI website.

Nominations for Board positions must be received by the AAI Secretary no later than October 15.
