Dear ,
My last email, announced that the deadline for Affiliate Members to table motions at the upcoming EGM would be December 18. To give you the maximum amount of time to consider motions, the board has decided to extend that deadline to December 28, 2022. We will still send out the agenda and a list of motions two weeks before the meeting, as required by the bylaws.
I hope you will consider tabling a motion for debate at the EGM, but even if you do not wish to, please send a delegate to the Zoom meeting on January 15–we have crucial issues to discuss.
To table a motion for the meeting to vote on, please send it to the AAI Secretary, Bill Flavell, secretary@atheistalliance.org by December 28; to register a delegate please write to Bill and give the name, email address and phone number of your delegate.
If you have questions and would like to talk to a board member, your Regional Director is a good place to start:
Africa Ebuka Ikeorah africa@atheistalliance.org Asia Tonoy Emroz Alam asia@atheistalliance.org Australasia Stella Thomas australasia@atheistalliance.org Europe Kristina Hallmeier europe@atheistalliance.org
For all other regions, please contact me, Brian Kernick, president@atheistalliance.org
If you cannot attend the EGM, you may select a proxy to vote on your behalf. The proxy must be a delegate who will attend the EGM. Bear in mind that the meeting may vote to amend motions, in which case, your proxy will have to use judgment to decide how you would vote for the amended motion. Therefore, you need a proxy who is able to make those decisions on your behalf.
The bylaws allow you to use the AAI President as a proxy, but, in this case, he will only be able to vote under your instruction for motions that are not amended. More details on proxy voting will be given once the Agenda and Motions are published.
Finally, some affiliate members have requested qualifications be made to the Disclosure Document. I will circulate these in a few days.
Thank you. Brian Kernick Acting President
