Giving-Tuesday
‌

Hello ,

“The world is trying to turn Afghanistan into Pandora's box and lock all Islamic extremists, terrorist groups, and monsters within the box, now we are here locked with monsters'' text written to AAI from an Afghan activist.

Currently, Atheist Alliance International supports a large number of Afghans at risk including activists, academics, writers, poets, school teachers, and secular women.

Please read their stories and consider making a #GIVINGTUESDAY donation to help us continue this work.

Fatma

Fatma sm

Battered and bruised Fatma, a 21-year-old activist from Tunisia, writes: ''My brother beats me inhumanly every day just for talking to boys at school. He will kill me for family honor. Please save my life.''

AAI was able to provide a monthly stipend to Fatima, and today she is safe and the top student in her class.

‌

Women's rights activist

A 26-year-old women’s rights activist and a lawyer from Afghanistan writes to us: ‘’Because of poverty, Afghan parents are forcing girls into marriage for a small amount of money. They won’t allow me to work, or live like a human. Please help me find freedom.’’

She found freedom in Europe.

Mahdi Solaili

Mahdi ‌
‌

Mahdi Solaili, a Saudi Arabian activist and another one of our rescue cases, writes: ''AAI came to my aid from the very moment I contacted them, emotionally, financially, and finally to safety. They did help me survive when I had no means to survive on my own and supported me emotionally when I had no one to lean on! I witnessed them sacrifice their time and everything they have, pressuring themselves to the limits to help everyone they can help and get them to safety. I will forever be thankful for them and will never forget what they did for me.”

Mahdi is also now in Europe.

Atheist activist from Egypt

A young activist from Egypt asked for our help as she was tortured, blackmailed, and raped because of her atheism. AAI helped her find safety in Europe. Overwhelmed with joy, she wrote to us:

''I was getting forced to get married and almost got killed by my mom because I did not want to hide my identity and who I am! As an Ex-Muslim lesbian woman in Egypt, I was oppressed by everyone, the police, my family, and the Muslim community. After I was raped I was devastated and lost the hope of being able to live again or get justice. Thank you AAI for your support.''

These are just a few of the people we’re supporting.

In countries such as Bangladesh, Turkey, Nigeria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Somalia the governments collaborate with the Islamic fundamentalists to torture and imprison secular activists and bloggers. When such injustices take place, Atheists Alliance International is obligated to support those innocent victims. Support includes a place to hide, other necessities, expensive legal battles, and relocation to a safe haven.

Atheist Alliance International is one of the very few human rights organizations fighting to protect these courageous men and women across the globe.

The power of change starts by protecting individuals and empowering them to go on and protect others. Please consider being part of this movement for change.

Your donation, small or large, will help save secular activists and bloggers from serious abuse. Please click below and donate to our GoFundMe campaign so we can continue to help people like these. Thank you!
