Our mission extends beyond advocacy; it is about creating tangible change in the lives of those who need it most. In Africa, we proudly support four schools that provide education to over 1,400 children. For these young minds, education is more than just learning—it is an opportunity to break free from the cycles of poverty and inequality. These schools are beacons of hope, places where children can dream of a brighter future. Your support ensures they have the resources to succeed. Our advocacy work at the United Nations amplifies the voices of the marginalized and oppressed. Around the globe, we fight for those persecuted for their lack of belief, for daring to speak out, or for standing firm in their convictions. This year, our Atheist Support Network has been a lifeline for many, providing legal assistance, safe hiding spaces, and relocation for atheists and secular human rights defenders in dire situations. One of our recent successes was helping Sahadat Russel, an award-winning human rights activist and filmmaker. Forced to flee due to the threats he faced for his work, Sahadat is now safe, continuing to raise awareness about critical human rights issues. His story, along with many others, can be found in our annual report, a testament to the power of collective action and support.
In Nigeria, we fought a landmark legal battle to annul the death sentence of Yahya Sharif, a young musician sentenced to die for blasphemy. Our efforts not only saved his life but also sent a powerful message about the importance of defending free thought and expression. Each case is a reminder of the immense challenges faced by those who dare to question or dissent in environments hostile to secularism and human rights. Our work also extends to supporting women escaping honor-based violence. In regions where patriarchal traditions endanger women’s lives, we have been able to provide safe havens and resources for those at risk. These women often face impossible choices, and your generosity ensures that we can be there for them when they need us most. The challenges we face are enormous, but we are fueled by the resilience and courage of the people we help. Every story of survival, every victory in the fight for justice, is made possible by the kindness of people like you. On this Giving Tuesday, we humbly ask for your support.
